Newburgh, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer played a strong first half but couldn't hold off Mount Saint Mary College in the second, falling 4-1 on Wednesday night at the Kaplan Field.

Andrew Rimes (Walden, NY/Mount Academy) scored their lone goal. Rimes led the team with three shots on target and
Spencer Reisman (Youngstown, NY/Lewiston Porter) added two shots on target.
The game began with both teams trading early goals. The knights struck first in the 7th minute through Quinn Tynan, but Cobleskill responded quickly as Rimes fired home the equalizer just under a minute later for his first goal of the season. The remainder of the first half saw both sides pressing for the lead. Cobleskill had several excellent chances to go ahead, but Mt. St. Mary goalkeeper Caesar Martinez came up big, making key saves to keep the game tied at 1-1 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Mt. St. Mary came out strong, controlling possession and applying pressure on the Cobleskill defense. In the 61st minute, Robert Tansey put the Knights ahead. They would go on to score two more goals in the next 17 minutes to put the game out of reach for the Tigers.
Cobleskill's offense struggled to regain the momentum from the first half, while Mt. St. Mary turned up their pressure, outshooting the Tigers 17-7 in the second period.
Cobleskill returns to action this Saturday, September 14
th, as they welcome MCLA for a home non-conference match starting at 3:00 p.m. down at the Soccer Complex.
