Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team delivered a strong defensive performance in a hard-fought 2-0 loss to Pitt-Bradford on Sunday afternoon at the Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
The Fighting Tigers junior goalkeeper
Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) was a standout for the Tigers, making an impressive 14 saves to keep Cobleskill within striking distance throughout the match.
Pitt-Bradford's Mya King scored the first goal early in the game, but the Tigers' defense regrouped and held the Panthers scoreless for nearly 70 minutes. King added a second goal in the 70th minute, assisted by Makartnee Mortimer, to give Pitt-Bradford some breathing room.
Cobleskill generated a few offensive opportunities of their own, with
Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) and
Tryhnati Donato (Stamford, NY) each forcing saves from Pitt-Bradford's keeper. The Fighting Tigers attempted to mount a comeback, but the Panthers defense answered the bell and hung on to the 2-0 victory.
The Tiger's received strong defensive efforts all game long from their back line of

Caleigh Chase (Cortland, NY),
Samantha Rotundo (New Egypt, NJ) and
Alivia Killian (South Glen Falls, NY).
Cobleskill will be in action next on September 14
th as they travel to Ramapo College in Mahwah, N.J. for a non-conference contest at 1:00 p.m.
