Cobleskill, NY: SUNY Cobleskill student-athletes Madelynn Orosz (Seymour, CT/Nonnewaug) of softball and Carson Collins (Deerfield, NH/Alvirne) of women's soccer recently attended the NCAA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, representing the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) E-Board.

Orosz serves as the SAAC President for SUNY Cobleskill and the SAAC Vice President for the NAC. Collins holds the position of an at-large councilor for the NAC SAAC. During the convention, they participated in a variety of events, including the NCAA Awards Ceremony, the Woman of the Year celebration, workshops, and panel discussions.

The convention also featured student-athlete leadership development sessions, a Division III student luncheon, and social events designed to foster collaboration and skill-sharing among attendees. Orosz and Collins had the opportunity to connect with fellow Division III student-athletes from across the country and bring back valuable insights to enhance the Cobleskill and NAC SAAC initiatives.

Reflecting on the experience, Orosz shared:
"Being a part of SAAC has taught me to be confident in my communication skills, how to work as a professional with people from various backgrounds, and to better my community around me. I enjoyed getting to know fellow student-athletes and working together for a common goal of improving the campus, conference, and national student-athlete experience. I am thankful for these opportunities provided to me by Division III sports."

Collins echoed these sentiments, saying:
" Attending the NCAA Convention was truly an incredible experience, getting to know individuals from all over the country with different experiences and backgrounds was truly special. Everyone there was so nice, and I made so many incredible connections in just a few days whether it be through sports, majors, or future endeavors. I look forward to continuing to grow these connections in the future."

Their participation highlights SUNY Cobleskill's commitment to student leadership and the development of its student-athletes, both on and off the field.
