Both teams grabbed 38 rebounds, but the Beavers held a key 32–20 edge in points in the paint and capitalized on 24 Cobleskill turnovers, turning them into 23 points. The Tiger bench provided a bright spot with a 21–16 scoring advantage.
The hosts opened with a 6–4 lead, but Bonczkowski answered with a three to put Cobleskill ahead 7–6. The teams traded baskets through the rest of the quarter, with the Beavers edging in front 15–12 in the final minute. Hadwen responded with a deep three to send the Tigers into the second period with a 16–15 lead.
Farmington briefly reclaimed the advantage at 17–16, but Victorin sparked the Tigers with back-to-back jumpers to go up 20–17. A jumper from
Kyra Pence (Randolph, NY) stretched the margin to 24–19 before UMF countered with a three. The defensive tempo picked up on both ends, and the Beavers carried a narrow 28–26 lead into halftime. Bonczkowski led Cobleskill at the break with eight points, while Hadwen added six.
The Tigers opened the second half on the front foot as Bonczkowski drained a floater and Victorin followed with a layup to tie the game at 30–30. Victorin then converted an and-one to put Cobleskill back on top, 33–32. The momentum shifted soon after, as UMF pieced together a pivotal 13–0 run to build a 45–33 lead. Hadwen hit a jumper to stop the push, but the Beavers continued to control the pace and entered the fourth quarter ahead 49–37.
UMF stayed hot from the field in the final period, extending the lead to 59–39 with just over seven minutes left. Ramos answered with an and-one, and Pence knocked down a jumper to cut the deficit to 62–46 with five minutes remaining.
