Tigers Wrap Up Season with Home Setback Against Delhi

Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2025 season on Saturday afternoon, falling to SUNY Delhi by a 27-6 margin at home.

Albert Sippio (Syracuse, NY/ITC) finished with two goals, a ground ball and two caused turnovers while Alex Baker (Guilford, VT/Brattleboro) recorded two goals, a ground ball to pace the Fighting Tigers' offense. Noah Palange (Pompton Lakes, NJ) turned in a strong effort with a goal, two assists, and a ground ball, while Rob Staubitz (East Rockaway, NY) added two helpers and collected three ground balls. Owen Martin (Olivebridge, NY/Onteora) chipped in with a goal to round out the Cobleskill scoring.

Between the pipes, first-year goalie William Wagner (Stillwater, NY) stood tall against heavy pressure, making 10 saves and picking up six ground balls. Despite Wagner's efforts, the Tigers struggled to find consistent footing at the X, with Tony Diaz (Bronx, NY/Mt. Saint Michael Academy) finishing 4-for-25 on faceoffs. Overall, Cobleskill went just 4-for-37 at the faceoff dot, making it tough to establish possession throughout the afternoon.

The Fighting Tigers were outshot 57-18 on the day and scooped up just 16 ground balls to Delhi's 58. Cobleskill was 10-for-15 on clears, while Delhi went a perfect 6-for-6.

The Broncos came out firing, jumping to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter and pushing their advantage to 17-0 before Sippio finally broke through with Cobleskill's first tally late in the second. Sippio struck again just before halftime, but the Tigers still faced a steep 20-2 deficit at the break.

Cobleskill found a spark in the third quarter, going toe-to-toe with Delhi in a 3-3 frame. Baker, Martin, and Palange, who buried a man-up goal, provided the third-quarter offense. In the fourth, Palange found Baker on a nice feed to cap Cobleskill's scoring, making it 26-6 before Delhi tacked on a final goal. Both squads were held scoreless over the final five minutes.

The loss marks the end of the 2025 season for the Fighting Tigers.
