Cobleskill Competes at RPI Capital District Classic

Troy, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's track and field team turned in a solid day of performances at the RPI Capital District Classic, hosted at the Ned Harkness Field & Track on Friday.

On the track, Kameron Cusmano (Oakfield, NY/Oakfield-Alabama) finished ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.42 seconds. In the sprints, Patrick Ponzo (Albany, NY) placed 22nd in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 11.59 seconds. Nik Recore (Peru, NY) turned in a strong effort in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing eighth overall in 10:36.95.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Quinn Service, Charles Cooper (Connetquot, NY), Patrick Ponzo, and Allen Simms (Ithaca, NY) combined to place sixth, crossing the line in 45.37 seconds. In middle distance, Antonio Gonzalez (Niskayuna, NY) placed 31st in the 800 meters, while Charles Cooper added an 11th-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.90.
In the field events, Cal Marks (Wellsburg, NY) recorded a 16th-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 38.70 meters, and a 15th-place showing in the discus with a throw of 34.08 meters. In the shot put, Xavier Poole (Pine Bush, NY) placed 24th with a toss of 10.76 meters.

The javelin saw two Fighting Tigers earn top-15 finishes, as Kameron Cusmano placed 12th with a throw of 37.96 meters (124'-6"), and Zachary Russell (Deposit, NY) followed in 15th with a mark of 36.31 meters (119'-1"). In the high jump, Thomas Herberger (Avon, NY) cleared 1.71 meters (5'-7 ¼") to place seventh.
