Cortland, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's track and field team concluded competition at the 2025 SUNYAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday, hosted by SUNY Cortland. The Tigers finished 11th in the team standings with two points, highlighted by a scoring performance in the 5000 meters.
Nik Recore (Peru, NY) led the way on the track, earning Cobleskill's two points with a seventh-place finish in the 5000 meters, clocking in at 16:08.83. Recore also competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing 13th in 10:44.47 to cap off a strong individual weekend.
In relay action, the 4x100-meter team of
Quinn Service,
Charles Cooper (Connetquot, NY),
Patrick Ponzo (Albany, NY), and
Allen Simms (Ithaca, NY) finished 10th overall in 45.26. The 4x400-meter squad of
David Kogan (Brooklyn, NY/Edward R. Murrow),
Antonio Gonzalez (Niskayuna, NY),
Brayden Lambert (Camden, NY), and
Charles Cooper closed out the meet with an 11th-place time of 3:53.89.
In the field events,
Thomas Herberger (Avon, NY) placed 13th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.55 meters (41-2¼). In the discus,
Cal Marks (Wellsburg, NY/Elmira) took 19th with a throw of 32.70 meters (107-3).
The SUNYAC Championships concludes the outdoor season for the Fighting Tigers.
