Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Cobleskill Stumbles Early, Drops Road Match at Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team struggled to find their footing early, conceding three goals in a 13-minute span during the first half, and could not recover in a 3-0 road loss to Brooklyn College on Friday evening in non-conference play.

Junior forward Connor Fancher (Worcester, NY) recorded the Tigers' lone shot on goal in the match. In net, junior Adam Champlin (South Kortright, NY) made two saves in the first half, while junior keeper Joe Wille (Gilboa, NY) came on after the break to post a second-half shutout with one save.

Brooklyn finished with a 14-2 advantage in total shots, including a 6-1 edge on target. After a tight opening 25 minutes, the Bulldogs broke through with the opening goal in the 26th minute. They quickly added another three minutes later on a long-range strike before extending their lead to 3-0 in the 37th minute.

Cobleskill settled in after halftime, limiting Brooklyn's opportunities and holding them scoreless over the final 45 minutes while looking to create chances of their own. Neither side was able to add to the scoreline in a second half with the Bulldogs taking the 3-0 win.
