Morrisville, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team struck early and held a first-half lead, but could not contain Morrisville in a 5-2 road loss on Friday night in non-conference play.

Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) powered the Cobleskill offense with a brace, finding the back of the net twice on three shots. Senior defender
Kayleigh Bryant (Schenevus, NY) continued to be a threat on set pieces, delivering an assist on the opening goal. First-year goalkeeper Samanta Fausti (Clayton, WA) was active between the posts, making 10 saves and coming up with several key stops to keep the Tigers in the match.
The Mustangs opened the scoring just five minutes in, but Cobleskill responded six minutes later when Bryant whipped in a dangerous free kick that Carney met with a header to level the match at 1-1. In the 21st minute, Carney took her turn on a set piece, driving a free kick from just outside the box into the bottom corner to put the Tigers ahead 2-1.
Morrisville regained control late in the first half, striking twice in less than two minutes to take a 3-2 lead into halftime. Cobleskill pressed to get back into the game, but the Mustangs extended their advantage in the 60th minute and sealed the match with a late goal to claim the 5-2 victory.
