Cobleskill, NY - The SUNY Cobleskill indoor track & field teams are set to take the track at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at SUNY Brockport, looking to cap off a strong indoor season against the conference's top competition.
Head coach Zach Haskin feels the group is dialed in heading into championship weekend.
"We have a positive mindset going into SUNYACs," said Haskin. "We have a few individuals sitting in strong positions and they've put in the work all season to get here. Now it's about stepping up and putting together two solid days."
Haskin points to the team's competitive culture and daily grind as the foundation for their readiness.
"This is one of the most dedicated groups I've coached," he said. "They push each other every day in training to raise the level of the entire squad. We're focused on executing, hitting marks, and coming away with personal bests when it matters most."
Leading the charge for the Fighting Tigers are standouts
Will Mann (Pawling, NY) and
Nik Recore (Peru, NY), who have delivered consistent performances throughout the season.
In the throws circle,
Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla (Fallsburg, NY) headlines a group that includes
Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY),
Cal Marks (Wellsburg, NY), and
Connor Rinas (Ontario County, NY), all of whom have shown steady progress and will look to deliver strong marks on the conference stage.
On the track, returning All-AARTFC long jumper
Anneliese Klein (Carlisle, NY) will look to make an impact as she lines up against some of the SUNYAC's best.
"On the men's side, William Mann will be a big name to watch in both the weight throw and shot put," Haskin said. "We're looking to build on his record-breaking season with another strong showing. For the women, Adira continues to close in on our school record and the regional standard in the weight throw. She's been pushing the limits all season and is ready for the moment."
