COBLESKILL, N.Y. — The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team split a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader with Husson on Sunday afternoon, dropping the opener 9-3 before responding with a 3-2 victory in Game Two.
In Game One, the Tigers were limited to three runs on eight hits as Husson used a pair of late innings to pull away. Cobleskill received offensive contributions throughout the lineup, but was unable to overcome Husson's scoring in the seventh and eighth innings.
Cobleskill bounced back in Game Two behind a strong all-around effort. The Tigers tallied three runs on eight hits and held Husson to just two runs over seven innings.
Tony Woodie led the offense in the nightcap with a 3-for-5 performance, including a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Jake Brazzano continued his strong weekend at the plate, collecting three hits, including a double, while adding an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Lansing added two RBIs to help power the Cobleskill offense.
On the mound, Cobleskill received a strong start from its pitching staff, limiting Husson to two runs while working efficiently through traffic. The Tigers' defense backed the effort, turning in a solid performance in the field to secure the win.
Cobleskill struck early in Game Two and held off a late Husson push, as the bullpen closed out the final innings to earn the split.
