La Plume, PA: The Tigers came out swinging. Jake Brazzano opened the offense with a double to right in the first, and Ryan Lansing brought him home with a run-scoring double of his own to left-center. The Tigers plated two more in the fourth — Anthony Sergi delivered a sacrifice fly to score Jesus Sarda, and Brazzano added another RBI single up the middle to make it 4-1 heading into the middle innings. Lansing was outstanding at the plate all afternoon, going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, raising his season average to .352. Brazzano matched that effort with 2-for-5, an RBI, and a double of his own.
The Tigers padded their lead in the sixth when Logan Firment led off with a solo home run to left (his fourth of the year)Â and Jeffrey Gutierrez later singled up the middle to score Sarda and give Cobleskill a 6-3 advantage. Anthony Sergi also scored on a wild pitch in the inning as the Tigers sent three across in the sixth to push the lead to 7-3. Firment finished with a home run, hit by pitch, and an RBI in his three plate appearances, improving his slugging percentage to a team-leading .634.
Evan Balbera (1-0) got the start and worked three solid innings, allowing one earned run on three hits while walking none and striking out one. He navigated a tough second inning with runners on the corners by getting Ethan Schimony to ground out before escaping further damage. Connor Mulligan, Alex Burciaga, Reis Brammer, and Jared Ainsworth combined to cover the middle innings. Greg Mable entered in the seventh with runners on second and third and worked his way out of trouble, then shut the door the rest of the way for 2.2 innings of clean relief. He scattered one hit, walked one, and stranded multiple Keystone baserunners in the eighth and ninth to earn the save. The Giants left 15 runners on base on the afternoon, going 4-for-27 with runners on.
