Women's Track and Field Competes at SUNYAC Championship

Klein Claims SUNYAC Heptathlon Title

CORTLAND, N.Y.: Sophomore Anneliese Klein won the SUNYAC Outdoor Heptathlon title as the Fighting Tigers competed at the 2026 SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 1–2 at SUNY Cortland.

Klein won the Women's Heptathlon with a total of 3,780 points, topping a field of 11 athletes and surpassing the AARTFC qualifying standard of 3,300 points by 480. She led wire-to-wire, posting the top score in the 100 meter hurdles (684 pts, 16.25 seconds) and finishing second in four of the remaining six events.

Klein's event-by-event scores:

  • 100m Hurdles: 16.25 — 684 pts (1st)

  • High Jump: 1.42m — 534 pts (5th)

  • Shot Put: 8.19m — 412 pts (4th)

  • 200m: 28.00 — 631 pts (2nd)

  • Long Jump: 5.02m — 565 pts (2nd)

  • Javelin: 24.44m — 372 pts (2nd)

  • 800m: 2:39.21 — 582 pts (2nd)

Total: 3,780 points — SUNYAC Champion

Klein also contributed a leg on the Cobleskill women's 4×400 relay team alongside Isabella Baier, Madison Binette, and Gillian Miner.

Senior thrower Dory Gosselin set a new SUNY Cobleskill school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.44 meters, finishing 9th in a competitive field of 21 athletes. Gosselin also competed in the discus (35.87m, 7th place) and shot put (10.27m, 9th place), contributing across all three throwing events for the Fighting Tigers.

Sophomore Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla competed in three throwing events, recording a 9.73m shot put (12th), 31.80m discus (12th), and 39.26m hammer (11th). Freshman Sidney Glover threw 36.09m in the hammer (17th). Freshman Trinity Grant advanced to the finals in both hurdle events, running 16.16 in the 100m hurdles prelims and 1:11.64 in the 400m hurdles prelims. Freshman Finley McArdle vaulted 2.30m in the pole vault (9th). In the heptathlon, sophomore Bethanie Becker scored 3,010 points (8th) and freshman Allison Merle totaled 2,226 points (11th).
