La Plume, P.A. – The Fighting Tigers Men's Soccer team traveled down to La Plume, P.A. on Saturday to take on the Giants of Keystone College in a non-conference matchup with kickoff set for 1 p.m. The Tigers battled throughout the afternoon but ultimately fell to the Giants by a final score of 3-0.
The Cobleskill back line came out organized defensively, working to limit Keystone's attacking opportunities and keeping the Giants off the scoreboard through the opening 45 minutes. Keystone recorded eight shots in the first half, but none found the back of the net. Freshman goalkeeper
Sean Hanrahan (Elmira, NY) came up with five saves in the first half, making several key stops to keep the Tigers within striking distance heading into the halftime break.
Cobleskill continued to compete in the midfield and defensive third as the second half got underway, looking to disrupt Keystone's passing lanes and prevent the Giants from building sustained possession in the attacking third. The Tigers remained within a scoreless deadlock until the 65th minute, when Keystone finally broke through to take a 1-0 lead.
The Giants quickly added another goal in the 66th minute before finding the back of the net for a third time in the 72nd minute, extending their advantage to 3-0. Despite the deficit, the Tigers continued to battle and looked for opportunities to push the ball forward and generate offense. Freshman midfielder
Michael Neaton (Saratoga Springs, NY) recorded the Tigers' lone shot of the match in the 78th minute.
The Tigers' goalkeeping corps finished the afternoon with nine total saves. Hanrahan recorded six saves on the day, while freshman
Nathaniel Harrington (Walton, NY) entered during the final 17 minutes and made three saves.

The Fighting Tigers will return home to host MCLA on Tuesday, September 22nd. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. as Cobleskill looks to defend its home pitch and get back on the attack.
