Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw with visiting MCLA on Tuesday evening at the Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
Senior forward
Connor Fancher (Worcester, NY) led the Tigers' attack with his second goal of the season, finishing with three shots, including two on target. First-year
Jack Jewett (Delanson, NY) recorded his second assist of the season and added two shots, while
Rob Staubitz (East Rockaway, NY) and
Spencer Reisman (Youngstown, NY) registered Cobleskill's other shots on goal.

Sean Hanrahan (Elmira, NY) made five saves, including a key stop in the final minute to preserve the draw.
The match was evenly played throughout, with both teams recording 10 shots. Cobleskill put four attempts on target compared to six for MCLA. The Trailblazers held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks, while both sides committed eight fouls.
Cobleskill broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when Jewett slipped a perfectly weighted through ball into the path of Fancher, who raced in behind the backline, rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an open net for a 1-0 lead. The Tigers nearly doubled the advantage later in the half when
Blake Guertin (Waterford, NY) found Jewett in behind, but his effort sailed just over the crossbar. MCLA answered with six minutes remaining before halftime as Aiden Gonzalez picked out Kyle Cardoso at the back post for the equalizer.
The Trailblazers nearly grabbed the lead five minutes into the second half when
Michael Neaton (Saratoga Springs, NY) effort struck the post. From there, the match remained end-to-end as both sides searched for the go-ahead goal. Cobleskill came close again in the 80th minute when Reisman found Jewett in space, but his shot narrowly cleared the crossbar. MCLA threatened late, but Hanrahan came up with a big diving save in the final minute to keep the match level and secure the 1-1 draw.
