Mike Jorgensen serves as the Campus Recreation Coordinator and oversees the operation of Club and Intramural Sports, Open Facility Use, the operation of the Campus Fitness Center, and Student Employment Supervision. In addition to facilitating Recreation Experiences, he serves as an Operations Assistant for Fighting Tigers Athletics, serving the needs of the athletes, coaches, and administration in day-to-day operations and in Contest and Event Management.
Mike was previously one of two Technical Assistants for Athletics, with responsibilities in Facilities, Grounds, Equipment Services, and Contest and Event Management. Mike was the Fighting Tigers Head Softball Coach over six seasons from 2012-2018, and headed up the Women’s Tennis Program for two seasons.
Jorgensen came to SUNY Cobleskill in 2006 after a five-year stint at his Alma Mater, the University at Albany, where he was the Assistant Equipment Manager for Great Danes Athletics and Staff Assistant for New York Giants Training Camp, which was held at the university each Summer.
A local product from Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, Mike was an All-Conference, three-sport athlete in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He then achieved his Bachelors Degree at the University at Albany in Mathematics, and was a student-athlete in Football and Baseball. He earned his Master’s Degree in Sport Management in 2011 from SUNY Cortland.
Mike resides in Cobleskill, NY with his wife Sarah and his sons, Anders (2008) and Aran (2011, born with Prader Willi Syndrome).
