Poughkeepsie, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team opened the 2014 portion of their schedule on Saturday night by dropping a 59-41 decision to Springfield College at the Vassar College Tip-off Tournament. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 0-1 overall while the Pride open the campaign with a 1-0 mark.
A poor shooting first half doomed Cobleskill to defeat as the Pride lead 35-13 at the half holding the Fighting Tigers to only 4-of-24 from the field, 16.7%, for the stanza including 0-of-7 from three-point range.

Senior guard Alexis Nunez, White Plains, N.Y., White Plains High School, led the Orange & Black in scoring with eight points on the evening while junior center Travis Woods, Mount Upton, N.Y., Unatego High School, had seven points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Fighting Tigers will close the tournament on Sunday November 16^th when they play Wheelock College in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m.
