Box Score Poughkeepsie, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team could not overcome a hot shooting performance by Wheelock College falling to the Wildcats by a 73-54 margin in the consolation game of the 2014 Vassar College Tip-Off Tournament. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 0-2 on the season overall while the Wildcats even their season record at 1-1.
The Wildcats wreaked havoc on the Fighting Tigers defense from the outside throughout the contest as Wheelock connected on 27-of-54 shots from the field, 50.9%, including 12-for-23 from three-point range, 52.2%, to secure the victory. Cobleskill also posted 23 turnovers on the afternoon to give Wheelock ample scoring opportunities.
Junior center
Travis Woods, Mount Upton, N.Y., Unatego High School, was solid in defeat for the Orange & Black, earning All-Tournament Team honors with 15 points and nine rebounds in the contest shooting an impressive 7-for-11 from the field. Senior forward
Mike Chapman, Brooklyn, N.Y., School for Democracy & Leadership, was also a factor in the game with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday November 19 when they meet the Eagles of Green Mountain College in their home opener beginning at 7:00 p.m.
