Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's swimming & diving team closed the 2014 portion of their schedule on Saturday sweeping the competition at a home quadrangular meet hosted by the Fighting Tigers at the Bouck Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Tigers defeated: Alfred State College 219-24, Wells College 171-99 and Gallaudet University 209-69 to improve their record to 8-3 versus head-to-head completion this year.
Cobleskill was impressive swimming in their home waters as the Orange & Black eight individual events on the afternoon led by freshman
Maia Rumsey, Trumansburg, N.Y., Odessa-Montour High School, who won the 50-yard freestyle in a program record time of 26.40 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 59.84 seconds and by freshman
Heidi Cortright, Johnson City, N.Y., Johnson City High School, who won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:14.88 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:04.37.
The Fighting Tigers will return after their Christmas break on Saturday January 17 when they travel to Troy, N.Y. to compete in the 2014 RPI Kumpf Invitational hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at the Robinson Pool beginning at 12:00 p.m.
