Canton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team opened the 2015 portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon suffering a blowout road loss to the host Kangaroos of SUNY Canton by a 64-37 margin in non-conference action. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 1-5 overall on the year while the Kangaroos break into the win column at 1-9 overall on the season.

Once again the Fighting Tigers offense was not up to the task of playing on the road as Cobleskill shot only 22.7% from the field, 15-of-66, while turning the ball over 18 times on the afternoon.

Sophomore forward Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, led Cobleskill with her sixth double/double of the season with 16 points and 15 rebounds on the afternoon while freshman guard Annette Hogan, Margaretville, N.Y., Margaretville High School, also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points.

The Orange & Black will next be in action on Monday January 12 when they travel to Schenectady, N.Y. to meet host Union College with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
