Mady Victorin Named SUNY Cobleskill Female Scholar Athlete of the Year

Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department honored senior Mady Victorin (Menands, NY/Shaker) of the Fighting Tiger women's basketball team as the 2025-26 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year during the department's annual Athletics Awards Ceremony.

The Female Scholar Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to a Fighting Tiger student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom, in competition and throughout the campus community.

A senior captain and Business Administration major, Victorin has built an outstanding resume as a student-athlete, excelling in the classroom, on the court and in the community. She maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average while completing her bachelor's degree in Business Administration in just three years.

Victorin earned Dean's List honors in six semesters, was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in Spring 2024 and is a three-time North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team selection. She was also named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team, recognizing her combined success academically and athletically.

Her leadership also extends beyond athletics through her active involvement in campus and community service. Victorin is currently interning with Impact Athletic Center, where she assists with event coordination and is helping plan a community day around Labor Day that will include a 5K, a school supply drive and activities for all ages. She also volunteers with St. Peter's Health Partners' annual school supply drive, helping pack backpacks filled with supplies for children in the pediatric unit of the hospital.

On the court, Victorin was a steady and respected leader for the Fighting Tigers during one of the most successful stretches in program history. She was part of Cobleskill's 2024-25 North Atlantic Conference Championship team and helped the program earn its first NCAA Tournament appearance. As a senior, she was selected to the 2025-26 NAC Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Team while appearing in 26 games with 16 starts. Victorin averaged 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, providing the Tigers with leadership, toughness and a reliable veteran presence.

Fighting Tiger Head Women's Basketball Coach Megan Bowman praised Victorin's lasting impact on the program.

"Mady Victorin exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete. She finished her career earning a perfect 4.0 GPA every semester while balancing a full-time job and serving as a captain of our team. Her impact on and off the court has been tremendous, and her commitment to excellence has been inspiring to everyone in our program. A perfect 4.0 combined with a NAC Championship replicate to the fullest of what it means to be a student-athlete in our program."

Victorin's academic excellence, leadership, athletic success and commitment to serving others made her a deserving recipient of the 2025-26 SUNY Cobleskill Female Scholar Athlete of the Year award.
