Kayleigh Bryant Named Cobleskill Senior Female Athlete of the Year

Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department honored senior Kayleigh Bryant (Schenevus, NY) of the Fighting Tiger women's basketball and women's soccer teams as the 2025-26 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year during the department's annual Athletics Awards Ceremony held earlier this April.

The Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to the graduating senior whose athletic career is considered the most exceptional among the graduating class.
A two-sport standout for the Fighting Tigers, Bryant made a lasting impact on both the women's basketball and women's soccer programs throughout her Cobleskill career. Her leadership, toughness and competitive presence helped set the tone for both teams, whether battling in the paint on the basketball court or anchoring the back line on the pitch.

On the hardwood, Bryant was a key contributor during the most successful stretches in women's basketball program history at the NCAA level. As a junior, she helped lead Cobleskill to its first-ever conference championship. During her sophomore season, she was part of the winningest team in program history, as the Fighting Tigers finished 25-2 and set a new single-season program record for wins.

Bryant capped off her senior season with career-best numbers, averaging 22.3 minutes, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 points, 1.1 steals and 1.0 block per game. She also earned NAC All-Tournament Team honors for her strong postseason performance. For her basketball career, Bryant appeared in 102 games with 18 starts, averaging 1.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 35.1 percent from the field.

On the pitch, Bryant served as a team captain and was a centerpiece of the Tigers' defensive unit. A steady presence in the back line, she earned First Team All-NAC honors during her junior season after helping lead the Cobleskill defense. During her senior campaign, Bryant also made an impact going forward, setting new career highs with three goals and three assists. For her soccer career, she appeared in 16 games with 14 starts, totaling three goals and three assists for nine points while helping the Tigers record one clean sheet.

Head women's basketball coach Megan Bowman reflected on Bryant's impact on the program during her time as a Fighting Tiger.

"Kayleigh Bryant leaves our program as one of the most decorated and consistent athletes to ever wear the uniform. Time and time again, her biggest performances came under the brightest lights, serving as the anchor and heart of our defense throughout her career. Her leadership, toughness, and competitive spirit set the standard for everyone around her."

Head women's soccer coach Lucia Liverio echoed those statements.

"She brought toughness, composure, and leadership to every match, setting the standard for our entire team. Her dedication on and off the field made her an easy choice for Senior Athlete of the Year."

Bryant's leadership, versatility and success across two programs helped define an outstanding career at SUNY Cobleskill and made her a deserving recipient of the 2025-26 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year award.
