La Plume, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team stumbled in the fourth period on the road Wednesday afternoon falling to the host Giants of Keystone College by a 12-6 margin in non-league action. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-3 overall on the campaign while the Giants post their first victory of the season and improve to 1-4.
The Fighting Tigers and the Giants entered the final stanza with Cobleskill trailing 7-5 before the home team blitzed them with a five goal quarter to secure the victory. Once again several late defensive lapses cost Cobleskill down the stretch.
Sophomore midfielder
David Meyers, Manorville, N.Y., Eastport South High School, was once again outstanding in defeat for the Orange & Black with two goals, three assists and seven ground balls on the afternoon while sophomore attackman
Chris Magee, Barrington, N.H., Dover High School, added two goas on the afternoon.
Cobleskill also received a strong outing from freshman
Kyle Magdziuk, Syracuse, N.Y., Westhill High School, who had a goal and an assist while picking up a team hill 10 ground balls and winning 15-of-22 face-off opportunities. Â
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday March 28 when they open North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on the road at Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y. with face-off at All-High Stadium on the campus of Riverside High School, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
