Women's Softball Swept at Keuka College on Friday Afternoon

Fighting Tigers Drop a Pair of NEAC Contests to Keuka College Wolfpack

Keuka Park, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests at Keuka College on Friday afternoon by scores of 4-1 and 10-4. With the losses the Fighting Tigers drop to 19-4 overall including a 13-3 mark in conference action while the Wolfpack improves to 12-6 overall and 12-4 versus league opponents.

The Fighting Tigers could manage only two hits in the opener and scored their only run of the contest on a first inning home run off the bat for freshman first baseman Morgan Nichols, Syracuse, N.Y., West Genesee High School, who finished 1-for-3 in the contest. The home run was Nichols ninth of the season.
Junior hurler Erin Wadsworth, Valatie, N.Y., Ichabod Crane High School, suffered the loss allowing the Wolfpack two-run home runs in the first and sixth innings to decide the issue as the Cobleskill right hander fell to 8-2 on the year. Wadsworth allowed three earned runs on four hits striking out four while allowing only one walk to the home team.

In the nightcap Cobleskill committed four errors which led to four unearned runs in the loss as second game pitcher Morgan Nichols suffered the loss to fall to 6-2 overall on the season.

Offensively junior catcher Madeline DeMilio, Valhalla, N.Y., Valhalla High School, continued her torrid hitting in the lead-off spot going 3-for-3 with two runs scored while Morgan Nichol went 1-for-3 with her 10th home run of the year.

The Fighting Tigers will return home over the weekend when they host conference rival Penn College of Technology for a pair of doubleheaders at Fighting Tiger Park on Saturday April 25 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and on Sunday April 26 starting at 11:00 a.m.
