Fighting Tiger Lax Suffer 15-4 Road Loss to Mount Saint Mary's College

Turnovers and Defensive Lapses Hurt Fighting Tigers in Non-Conference Loss

Newburgh, N.Y.:  The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team saw their season opening two-game winning streak end on Saturday as the Fighting Tigers dropped a 15-4 non-conference road decision to host Mount Saint Mary's College on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-1 overall on the year while the Knights improve to a perfect 4-0 on the season.

Cobleskill got off to an extremely slow start early falling behind 6-0 after the first period after which they could pose no serious threat to the Knights. The Fighting Tigers hurt themselves with 30 turnovers and 12 failed clearing attempts. The Orange & Black were also outshot 43-to-22 by their hosts in the contest.

On an afternoon that featured many frustrations offensively, Cobleskill received goal scoring efforts from: sophomore midfielder Logan Carsten, Chesterfield, N.H., Keene High School, sophomore midfielder Kyle Magdziuk, Syracuse, N.Y., Westhill High School, freshman midfielder Tanner Puff, Wallkill, N.Y., Wallkill High School, and freshman attackman Edwin Martinez, Brentwood, N.Y., Brentwood High School.
