Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team returned to action on Wednesday evening losing a 16-7 non-conference road decision under the lights to the Raptors of Bard College. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-4 overall on the campaign while the host Raptors now improve to 3-4 overall on the season with the victory.
Cobleskill and Bard came out firing as the host Raptors took a 5-3 lead after the first period then extended their lead to 9-5 at the half. In the second half the home team ground down the Fighting Tigers offense forcing 25 turnovers on the evening to secure the victory after limiting the visitors to only a pair of goals the rest of the way.
Senior attackman
Alex Acompora, Harrison, N.Y., Harrison High School, was once again a strong factor offensively for the Orange& Black with two goals on the evening as was sophomore attackman
Logan Carsten, Chesterfield, N.H., Keene High School, who also tallied twice for Cobleskill. Freshman
Hunter Purner, Glens Falls, N.Y., Hudson Falls High School, continued his strong rookie season with a goal, an assist and five ground balls picked up.
The Fighting Tigers will next take to the field on Saturday April 2
nd when they open their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) season versus the Hilbert College beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the SUNY Cobleskill Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
