Troy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team opened their 2016 campaign with an impressive 12-8 victory over the Eagles of Green Mountain College in non-conference action on Saturday in a contest played on the turf at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Renwyck Field. The win puts the Fighting Tigers at 1-0 to open the season while the Eagles now fall to 0-2 overall with the loss.

Kyle Magdziuk, Syracuse, N.Y., Westhill High School, who won 23-of-24 face-off opportunities to go with 11 groundballs, a goal, an assist and four caused turnovers on the afternoon.

John Montainiz, Lindenhurst, N.Y., Lindenhurst High School/Suffolk Community College, was also impressive in his first game with the program as the former junior college stand-out posted the victory with 16 saves to go with four groundballs picked up on the day.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Tuesday March 8
th when they travel to Riverdale, N.Y. to face the College of Mount Saint Vincent in non-conference action in a game to be played at Manhattan College in Manhattan, N.Y. beginning at 7:30 p.m. Â Â
