Keuka Park, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team closed out their weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon by dropping a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games to the host Wolfpack of Keuka College by scores of 8-0 and 5-0. The losses drop the Fighting Tigers to 0-14 overall including a 0-8 mark in conference play while the Wolfpack improves to 8-6 overall with a perfect conference record of 6-0.
In the first game the Wolfpack capitalized on several Fighting Tiger miscues to jump out to an early 6-0 lead from which they would never look back as Keuka pitching held Cobleskill to only three singles in the contest.
Freshman designated hitter
Casey Haughney, Melrose, N.Y., Hoosic Valley High School, extended her hitting current streak to four games going 1-for-2 at the plate for the visitors.
In the second game the Fighting Tigers once again could mount little offense against Wolfpack pitching once again managing only four singles and a walk in the contest.
Casey Haughney was 1-for-3 for the Orange & Black as was sophomore shortstop
Jaimee Lord, Mechanicville, N.Y., Ballston Spa High School.
Cobleskill will next take the field on Tuesday April 19 when they travel to Purchase, N.Y. for a non-league doubleheader versus SUNY Purchase beginning at 4:00 p.m. Â
