Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team suffered a setback on Saturday afternoon losing a their conference opening doubleheader to visiting North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Keuka College by scores of 11-0 and at 8-1 at Fighting Tiger Park. With the losses the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-6 overall with a 0-2 mark in league action while the Wolfpack evens their overall record at 4-4 overall including a 2-0 mark in league play.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers were no-hit at the hands of their visitors as the offense could generate no baserunners in the five-inning affair which saw eight Cobleskill hitters strike out in the contest.
The nightcap proved to be little better as the home team could manage only two hits and one unearned in the contest as junior third baseman
Megan Golden, Oxford, N.Y., Oxford Academy, was 1-for-3 with a run scored with senior left fielder
Jessica Massi, Auburn, N.Y., Port Byron High School, also going 1-for-3 with a double on the day.
The Fighting Tigers NEAC contest versus Penn College originally scheduled for Sunday April 3
rd has been canceled due to projected unstable weather conditions. Information regarding a potential make-up date will be release at a later date. Cobleskill will return to action on Tuesday April 5
th when they travel to Troy, N.Y. to face the Gators of Sage College in non-league action beginning at 3:30 p.m.Â
