GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill junior
Emily Sugrue, Long Island City, N.Y., The Renaissance Charter School, has been named the league's Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday October 29
th. This marks the third time in her career that Sugrue has earned NEAC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week honors.
The talented junior was an individual triple event winner on Saturday afternoon in the team's season opening 121-31 win over the Broncos of SUNY Delhi at the Bouck Hall Natatorium. Surgue was the team's top performer winning the: 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.33, the 50-yard freestyle in 29.41 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.69 as the Orange & Black defeated their long-time rivals to move to 1-0 in head-to-head competition.
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday November 4
th when they travel to Bronxville, N.Y. to the Grippins of Sarah Lawrence College in dual meet action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
