Fighting Tiger Men's Lax Nipped by Mount Saint Vincent 10-9 in Non-League Action

Cobleskill Lax Loses to Mount Saint Vincent 10-9 on Late Fourth Period Goal

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team dropped a 10-9 decision visiting Dolphins of The College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) the afternoon in non-league action at the Fighting Tigers Soccer/Lax Complex. With the loss Cobleskill moves to 3-4 overall on the season while CMSV improves to 2-8 overall.
After trailing most of the contest the Fighting Tigers tied the game at 9-9 with 6:36 left in regulation when sophomore midfielder Sean Degnan, Monroe, N.Y., Monroe-Woodbury High School, found freshman attackman Robert Gioielli, Staten Island, N.Y., Monsignor Farrell High School, in the crease for the game tying goal.

However the Cobleskill momentum was sidetracked when Dolphin senior midfielder Ken Brown-Oda, New York, N.Y., Fordham Prep, found the back of the net for his third goal of the day with 5:27 left to play to give the visitors a 10-9 lead.

Brown-Oda's final goal would eventually stand up as the game winner as several subsequent Fighting Tiger attacks would produce nothing in the scoring department.
Robert Gioielli and sophomore midfielder Anthony Yevoli, Amsterdam, N.Y., Amsterdam High School, would each score a pair of goals for the Orange & Black in the contest while junior attackman Jeremy Mowrey, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School/Herkimer Community College, would score once and pass out three assists on the afternoon.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Wednesday April 12th when they host the Mustangs of Morrisville State College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action with face-off at 4:00 p.m.
