Aurora, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team ended a 14-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon blanking with The Express of Wells College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play taking the opener by a score of 4-0 then dropping the nightcap by a 5-2. With the blank the Fighting Tigers improve to 3-21 overall on the season including a 2-14 mark in conference play while Wells moves to 6-18 overall on the year including a 6-13 record versus conference opponents.
Freshman hurler
Katerina Weingarten, Carlisle, N.Y. Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, threw a complete game shutout for her first college victory striking out three and walking no one in seven strong innings of work backed up by a flawless fielding effort from the Cobleskill defense.
The Fighting Tigers put the game out of reach with three runs in the fifth inning led by the hitting for junior third baseman
Hannah Hoffman, Troy, N.Y., Averill Park High School/Hudson Valley Community College, who went 3-for-3 in the game with a double, a walk, a run scored and a RBI and by sophomore catcher Gabrielle Danthine, Sloansville, N.Y., Schoharie High School, who went 3-for-4 with a run scored.
In the second game the Orange & Black took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning when several defensive miscues led to The Express scoring all five of their runs and taking the victory.
Offensively the Fighting Tigers received a 1-for-4 one RBI contribution from third baseman

Quesha Sells, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, each were 2-for-3 on the afternoon. Â
Cobleskill will return to action on Tuesday April 25
th when they travel to Morrisville, N.Y. to meet the Mustangs of Morrisville State College beginning at 3:00 p.m. Â
