Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse suffered a 15-10 home loss in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday afternoon to the visiting Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute at the Soccer/Lax Complex. With the loss the Fighting Tigers move to 3-3 overall on the season with a 0-2 mark in conference play while the Wildcats improve to 2-8 overall with a 1-2 NEAC record.
Once again a slow start proved to be costly for the Fighting Tigers as they allowed the visitors to jump out to a first period 5-0 lead as the Wildcats converted on a number of Cobleskill defensive lapses. The visitors run their advantage to 9-2 at the half from which they never looked back.
Offensively Cobleskill received three goal efforts from junior attackman
Jeremy Mowrey, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School/Herkimer Community College, and freshman attackman
Robert Gioielli, Staten Island, N.Y., Monsignor Farrell High School, while sophomore midfielder
Jake McCarthy, Kings Park, N.Y., Kings Park High School, added a goal and a pair of assists on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will next take the field on Monday April 10
th when they host the Dolphins of The College of Mount Saint Vincent at the Soccer/Lax Complex with face-off at 4:00 p.m.
