Cold Starts Costs Fighting Tiger Men's Lax in 19-9 Home Loss to Cazenovia College in NEAC Action

Cobleskill Men's Lax Falls 19-9 to Cazenovia at Home in NEAC Action

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team's return home to the Soccer/Lax Complex for their 2018 home opener did not go according to plan on Wednesday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers dropped a 19-9 decision to the Wildcats in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 3-5 overall on the year with a 0-3 record in conference play while the Wildcats improved to 3-6 overall on the season with a 2-2 record versus NEAC opponents.

The visitors came out on fire in the cold winds of Cobleskill scoring early and often to go into the locker room with a 12-2 lead as a result of dominating the face-off circle by a 21-to-11 on the afternoon.

Senior attackman Jeremy Mowrey, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School/Herkimer Community College, continued his strong offensive play on the afternoon with five goals and an assist while junior attackman Sean Degnan, Monroe, N.Y., Monroe-Woodbury High School, scored two goals to go with a pair of assists. The Orange & Black also received two goals from junior attackman Garrett Vigrass, Wallkill, N.Y., Wallkill High School.

The Fighting Tigers will next take to the road over the weekend traveling to Aurora, N.Y. for a NEAC game versus Wells College on Saturday April 14th beginning at 1:00 p.m. before traveling to Manchester, Vt. on Sunday April 15th for a make-up game versus the Eagles of Green Mountain College to be played at Burr and Burton Academy with face-off slated for 1:00 p.m.
