Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team returned home on Wednesday afternoon to drop a 0-0 decision to the visiting Hawks of Hilbert College in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 3-9 including a 0-7 mark in league action while the Hawks improve to 8-5 overall with a 5-2 conference record.
After the Fighting Tigers scored the first two goals of the contest to take a 2-0 lead with 2:46 left in the first period. From that point on the Hawks scored the game's next 10 goals to take a 10-2 lead going into halftime from which they would never look back.
The bright spot offensively for Cobleskill on the afternoon was the play of senior attackman Jeremy Mowrey, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School/Herkimer Community College, who scored two goals to go with an assist on the afternoon.
The Orange & Black will close the 2018 season at home on Saturday afternoon when they host the Mavericks of Medaille College for a NEAC game beginning at 1:00 p.m.
