Delhi, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's swimming & diving team opened their season on Saturday by flexing its new found muscles in a 111-39 victory over the host Broncos of SUNY Delhi. With the win the Fighting Tigers open the season with a 1-0 mark versus head-to-head competition.
The Fighting Tigers captured nine individual events and a relay in the season opening victory over the Broncos led by sophomore
Katherine Noncarrow, Allendale, N.J., Northern Highland Regional High School, who won: the 500-yard freestyle in 6:07.72, the 1000-yard freestyle in 12:33.77, and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.00.
The Orange & Black also received multiple wins from sophomore
Katrina Oakes, Bombay, N.Y., Salmon River High School, in the: 50-yard freestyle in 29.79 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.06 and from freshman
Tori Reese, Horseheads, N.Y., Odessa-Montour High School, in 200-yard individual medley in 2:31.86 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:16.26.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday October 19
th when they travel to Oneonta, N.Y. for the 2019 Hartwick Relays hosted by Hartwick College with the diving portion of the competition beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 1:00 p.m.
