Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill E-Sports Team started their inaugural season with solid showings during their first week of intercollegiate competition. The Fighting Tigers opened league competition by splitting a number of decisions across a number of the games sponsored in SUNY League action.
On Tuesday evening the Orange & Black zoomed into Rocket League action with Cobleskill's number one team of Zachary Gibbs, Ryan Hoag, and Jacob Bunker defeating SUNY Empire State 3-0 in the best-of-five round event.
The Fighting Tiger number two team of Brycen Franek, Dawn Cruz and Zebulun Schmid took a decision over Jamestown Community College on an opponent withdrawal.
In Super Smash Brothers play Abraham Rodriguez led the Cobleskill squad to a victory over Tompkins-Cortland Community College on an opponent withdrawal.
On Wednesday in Call of Duty action the Fighting Tiger team of Marc Marrone and Tyrone Harris dropped a hard battled 3-2 decision to SUNY Fredonia while in Fortnite action the Cobleskill team of Brycen Franek and Jesse Hodge fell by a 3-1 margin to Suffolk Community College.
The Fighting Tigers closed out the week as the Valorant Team of Marc Marrone, Abraham Rodriguez, Zebulun Schmid, Brycen Franek and Ainsley Hyland dropped a 2-0 decision to SUNY Plattsburgh in the best two-out-of-three format.
