Oneonta, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team dropped a 24-7 decision to the Broncos of SUNY Delhi in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division opener for both teams in a game played on the turf at Oneonta High School on Saturday morning. With the loss the Fighting Tigers open the campaign at 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play while the Broncos move to 1-1 overall with a 1-0 conference record.
Delhi stormed out to a 6-1 first period lead on the strength of three goals by freshman attackman Aidan Costello, Northport, N.Y., Harborfields High School, and never looked back as the Broncos out-shot Cobleskill 66-to-19 on the day while forcing 43 turnovers and holding a 60-to-44 advantage in ground balls.

Joe DiSalvo, Canandaigua, N.Y., Canandaigua Academy, who scored twice and pick-up seven ground balls and from sophomore attackman
William Bockhaus, Southampton, N.Y., Southampton High School, who finished with two goals and an assist. Sophomore attackman
Giovanni Bevaqua, Newtown, N.J., Newtown High School, was also a factor in the contest for the home team with four assists and four groundballs in the game. Â
On defense for Cobleskill, freshman goalie
Sean McMahon, Clifton Park, N.Y., Shenendehowa High School, made 18 saves and ranged out of the net to pick-up six ground balls in his first intercollegiate contest.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action at home on March Saturday March 27 at 1:00 p.m. when the host league rival SUNY Canton at the Soccer/Lacrosse Complex at 1:00 p.m.Â
