Fighting Tiger Men's Track & Field Opens Season at Cortland Challenge Meet

Tyler Brado Captures High Jump at 2021 Cortland Challenge Meet for Fighting Tigers


Cortland, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's track & field team opened the outdoor season on Monday traveling to the 2021 Cortland Challenge hosted by the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons at their SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. The Fighting Tigers brought home a number of solid efforts from the rain-soaked non-scoring qualifying event.  

Junior jumper/hurdler Tyler Brado, St. Johnsville, N.Y., Oppenhein-Ephratah-St. Johnsville High School, provided the highlight of the meet for Cobleskill winning the high jump by clearing a height of 1.89 meters (6'2") in his first event of the season.  

The Fighting Tiger middle distance/distance corps also made a strong showing in the wind and rain as junior Dillon VanDemortel, Newark, N.Y., Newark High School, placed fifth overall in the 1500-meter run in 4:19.72 and sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:04.15 while junior Jared Craw, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School/Hudson Valley Community College, place third in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:27.65 and eighth in the 400-meter dash in 57.60.
