Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team extended their current winning streak to four games by positing a sweep against the visiting Kangaroos of SUNY Canton on Saturday afternoon defeating their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rivals by scores of 3-1 and 13-3. With the sweep, the Fighting Tigers are now 7-5 overall on the season with a 5-3 mark in NAC play while the Kangaroos move to 1-16 overall with a 0-10 record in conference action.
In the opener sophomore pitcher
Victoria Decker, Stone Ridge, N.Y. Rondout Valley High School, went the distance limiting Canton one run on only three hits to record the victory. Decker also drove in an important insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning on an infield ground out.
At the plate, Fighting Tiger sophomore catcher
Ashley Covert, Castile, N.Y., Letchworth High School, was 1-for-3 while doubling home the eventual game winning run while senior shortstop
Megan Gilligan, East Chatham, N.Y., Chatham High School, went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
In the nightcap, the Cobleskill offense exploded for 11 first inning runs to decide the contest as the home team pounded out 13 hits and drew six walks in the win.

Megan Gilligan once again did the bulk of the damage as Cover went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored while Gilligan went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Junior third baseman
Maya Davies, Binghamton, N.Y., Chenango Valley/Onondaga Community College, was also a factor in the win going 2-for-2 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.
Senior pitcher
Edyliese Aquino, Stamford, Conn., Westhill High School, recorded the victory going five innings allowing two earned runs while striking out three and walking three. Â

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Wednesday April 28 when they travel to Cazenovia, N.Y. for a NAC doubleheader versus Cazenovia College beginning at 3:00 p.m. Â
