SUNY Cobleskill Track & Field Competes at 2021 NAC Invitational/Bronco Classic

Fighting Tiger Women's Track & Field Opens Season on Saturday at SUNY Delhi


Delhi, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's and women's track & field teams traveled to SUNY Delhi on Saturday for the 2021 North Atlantic Conference Invitational/Bronco Classic hosted by SUNY Delhi at the college's Track & Field Complex. The Fighting Tigers brought home a number of solid efforts at the non-scoring event.

On the men's side, senior jumper Tyler Brado, St. Johnsville, N.Y., Oppenhein-Ephratah-St. Johnsville High School, top performance at the meet for Cobleskill winning the high jump by clearing a height of 1.90 meters (6'2 ¼") to meet the NCAA Atlantic Regional Meet qualifying standard.

The Fighting Tigers also received strong showings from junior distance runner Dillon VanDemortel, Newark, N.Y., Newark High School, placed third overall in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:36.68 and form sophomore mid-distance runner Tucker Skowyra, Hardwick, Mass. Quabbin Regional High School, who placed fourth overall in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:34.69.

On the women's side, sophomore Shania Steria, Booneville, N.Y., Adirondack High School, turned in the top effort for the team placing fifth overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:53.51 while sophomore sprinter Brianna Fernandez, Rome, N.Y., Rome Free Academy, placed sixth overall in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 15.47 seconds.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Friday April 30 when they compete at the Bronco Afternoon Classic hosted by SUNY Delhi beginning at 3:30 p.m.
