Cobleskill Women Open Strong at Day One of SUNYAC Championships

Cortland, N.Y. – The SUNY Cobleskill women's track and field team turned in a series of solid performances on Friday evening during Day One of the 2025 SUNYAC Outdoor Championships, hosted at SUNY Cortland. The Tigers made their presence felt in the field events, picked up team points in the javelin, and saw progress on the track as well.

In the javelin, Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) got Cobleskill on the scoreboard with a seventh-place finish. Carney registered a throw of 28.52 meters (93-7), earning two team points.

The hammer throw featured a strong effort from Cobleskill's throwers. Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla (Fallsburg, NY) took 11th place with a toss of 36.60 meters (120-1), while Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) followed closely in 13th with a personal-best mark of 35.99 meters (118-1), continuing her steady improvement in the circle.

On the track, Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY) competed well in the 800 meters, finishing 10th overall in 2:28.56. In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, Guerna Becker (Fairfield, MT) placed 11th with a time of 17.67.

The Tigers will return to the track and field on Saturday morning as the SUNYAC Championships continue with Day Two beginning at 9:00 a.m.
