Cobleskill Women Open Indoor Season Strong at Utica Holiday Classic

Utica, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill women's indoor track and field team kicked off their 2025-26 season on Saturday at the Utica Holiday Classic hosted by Utica University. The Tigers displayed depth across running, jumping, and throwing events, highlighted by strong finishes in both the track and relay competitions.

On the track, Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) finished sixth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:34.61. In the sprints, Finley McArdle (East Aurora, NY) ran the 60 meters in 9.66 seconds for 32nd place, while the 60-meter hurdles featured several Tigers making an impact. Anneliese Klein (Carlisle, NY) qualified for the finals with an eighth-place finish in prelims at 9.68 seconds and finished eighth in the final with a time of 9.86. Trinity Grant (Albany, NY) narrowly missed the finals, placing 12th in 9.91 seconds, Bethanie Becker (Millers Place, NY) took 18th in 10.22 seconds, and Allison Merle (Holley, NY) ran 10.40 for 21st place.

Middle-distance events saw Madison Binette (Lewistown, ME) post an 11th-place finish in the mile at 6:19.19 and an eighth-place finish in the 800 meters at 2:57.38. Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY) turned in the Tigers' top individual finish of the meet in the 800 meters, claiming second place with a time of 2:35.85. In the 200 meters, Trinity Grant ran 28.72 seconds to place 20th. The 4x400-meter relay team of Klein, Binette, Grant, and Miner executed a strong closing leg to move from third to second, crossing the finish line in 4:42.05.

Cobleskill's throwers made their mark as well. In the weight throw, Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla (Fallsburg, NY) led the Tigers with a 13th-place toss of 12.29 meters (40-4), followed by Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) at 11.48 meters (37-8) for 23rd and Sidney Glover (at 9.66 meters (31-8½) for 37th. In the shot put, Greer-Padilla again led the group with a 26th-place toss of 9.41 meters (30-10½), while Glover threw 8.52 meters (27-11½) for 34th and Gosselin recorded 8.28 meters (27-2) for 35th.

In the jumps, Anneliese Klein was the Tigers' top performer in the long jump, taking sixth with a leap of 5.26 meters (17-3¼), while Bethanie Becker placed 18th with a jump of 4.71 meters (15-5½). Becker also cleared 1.43 meters (4-8¼) to finish eighth in the high jump.
