Delhi, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's and women's track & field program closed out the 2021 regular season over the weekend at the Bronco Weekend Classic hosted by SUNY Delhi. The Fighting Tigers turned in several impressive showings on the track and in the field events at the non-scoring event.

Senior jumper Tyler Brado, St. Johnsville, N.Y., Oppenhein-Ephratah-St. Johnsville High School, turned in the top overall performance at the event with an explosive effort in the high jump winning the event by clearing a height of 2.01 meters (6'7"). With his effort Brado is currently ranked fifth in the region in the event.

The Fighting Tigers also received a win on the track from junior distance runner Jared Craw, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School/Hudson Valley Community College, who came from behind to win the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:07.27.

Cobleskill thrower sophomore thrower Kyle Shambo, Jay, N.Y., Keene Valley High School, was also a factor at the event finishing second overall in the discus with a toss of 25.79 meters (84'7") on the afternoon.

On the women's side, sophomore Shania Steria, Booneville, N.Y., Adirondack High School, turned in the top effort for the team placing second overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:05.89 while sophomore sprinter Brianna Fernandez, Rome, N.Y., Rome Free Academy, placed third overall in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 15.21 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 31.61 seconds.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action when the team's qualified athletes will compete at the 2021 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, N.Y. at the college's Polisseni Track & Field Complex on Wednesday May 19 and Thursday May 20.
