Cobleskill, NY: The Fighting Tigers esports team is in full swing with their fall season. The Tigers sit at an overall 12-10 record as they enter the end of October.
This fall the Tigers are fielding teams in Rocket League, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, FIFA 23 and League of Legends. They will be competing in the competitive SUNY esports League, ECAC esports League and College League of Legends tournament.
Rocket League bounced back strong and shut out SUNY Poly 3-0Â in dominate fashion. The trio of
Ryan Hoag (Troy, NY),
Justin Besosa (Northport, NY) and
Justin Caruso (Coxsackie-Athens, NY) put on a show that displayed their excellent teamwork and skill.
The Tigers will be in action next on Tuesday, October 25
th, at 8 pm against University of Buffalo.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War suffered their first loss of the season against SUNY Brockport. This matchup was between the only two defeated teams in the SUNY League. The team of
Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY),
Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY),
Dominic Ciano (Walden, NY) and
Rahnell Lambright (Harlem, NY) couldn't overcome Brockports calculated tactics and teamwork in this highly anticipated battle.
The Tigers will be in action on Thursday, October 27
th, at 8 pm against Farmingdale State College.
James Cerny (New Paltz, NY) fell to Westchester Community College, 3-0. Newcomer
Matthew Nikolaus (Middleburgh, NY) fell to a tough opponent from Niagara County Community College, 3-0.
Both players will be in action on Thursday, October 27
th, at 8 pm against SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Empire State College.
The newly added FIFA23 teams of
Derek Streeter (Ilion, NY) and
Saro Karageozian (Colonie, NY) went 1-1 last week. Streeter jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the best of 5 series over Lycoming College, but Lycoming battled back to win the next two games and take the 2-1 victory. Karageozian defeated Buena Vista University 2-0 to pick up his second victory on the season. Both players are 2-1 in the ECAC League.
