Cobleskill, NY: The Fighting Tigers esports team returned to action for their first week of the 2022 season. They finished the week with a 3-1 overall record.
This fall the Tigers are fielding teams in Rocket League, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, FIFA 23 and League of Legends. They will be competing in the competitive SUNY esports League, ECAC esports League and College League of Legends tournament.
Rocket League carried their momentum from last fall into their first match against Suffolk County Community College with a 3-1 (3-0, 4-1, 1-2, 4-0) victory in dominate fashion. The trio of

Justin Besosa (Northport, NY) and
Justin Caruso (Coxsackie-Athens, NY) used teamwork and passing to create chance after chance for Cobleskill.
The Tigers will be in action next on Tuesday, October 4
th, at 8 pm against University of Buffalo.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fired off their 2022 season with a 3-0 win over Alfred State. The team of
Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY),
Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY),
Dominic Ciano (Walden, NY) and
Rahnell Lambright (Harlem, NY) took game 1 with a 250-202 Hardpoint victory and then used a comeback in search and destroy to claim a 6-4 win in game 2. They finished off Alfred State with a 3-1 win to complete the 3-0 sweep.
The Tigers will be in action on Thursday, October 6
th, at 8 pm against Niagara County Community College.
James Cerny (New Paltz, NY) claimed his first victory of the season in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by sweeping SUNY Schenectady, 3-0. Newcomer
Matthew Nikolaus (Middleburgh, NY) fell to a tough opponent from SUNY Oneonta, 3-0.
Both players will be in action on Thursday, October 6
th, at 8 pm against SUNY Poly and SUNY Potsdam.
