Waterville, Maine: The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill junior Markel Jenkins, Elmira, N.Y., Elmira High School/Corning Community College, has been named the league's NAC Men's Basketball Defensive-of-the-Week for the week ending November 27, 2022.

The Elmira, N.Y. native helped the Fighting Tigers to a 120-118 non-conference road victory on Tuesday over the host Hawks of Hunter College in New York, N.Y. as Cobleskill improved their overall record to 5-2 on the season.
The junior center contributed 12 defensive rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot on the evening while drawing a pair of offensive fouls on the Hawks in the victory while also posting his first double/double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds on the night.

On the season Jenkins is averaging 7.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.4 blocked shots per game while connecting on 18-of-38 shots from the field, 47.9%, in seven starts.

The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday November 30 when they travel to Newburgh, N.Y. for a non-conference meeting with the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary's College with tip-off slated for
