Houghton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's indoor track & field team opened their 2022-23 season over the weekend at the Houghton December Classic hosted by Houghton University in Houghton, N.Y. The Fighting Tigers brought home several notable finishes versus a field that consisted of teams from all NCAA divisions of competition.
The Cobleskill 4 X 200 Meter Relay of sophomore
Hayleigh Girard, Hudson Falls, N.Y., Hudson Falls High School, first-year
Dory Gosselin, Whitehall, N.Y., Whitehall High School, first-year
Shealinn Stevens, Otego, N.Y., Unatego High School, and first-year
Jessica Carney, Hopkinton, N.H., Hopkinton High School, turned in the team's top effort of the meet placing sixth overall in a time of 2:03.70.
The Fighting Tigers also received a solid effort in the mid-distance events from sophomore
Katherine Ledermann, Altamont, N.Y., Guilderland High School, who placed 12
th overall in the 800-Meter Run in 2:52.11 and 13
th in the Mile Run 6:08.62.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday December 10 when they travel to Utica, N.Y. for the 2022 Utica Holiday Classic to be hosted by the Pioneers of Utica University at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports & Recreation Center beginning at 10:00 a.m.
