Clermont, Florida: After having their flight to the Sunshine State delayed on multiple occasions the SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team arrived at the 2022 The Spring Games in time to take the field versus the Harriers of Miami University-Hamilton (MUH) from Hamilton, Ohio. The jet lagged Fighting Tigers opened the year falling to the Harriers by a 12-4. With the loss Cobleskill opens the year 0-1 overall while MUH is now 1-11 overall.
The Harriers jumped out to an early 12-1 lead from the outset on the strength of 15 hits coupled with three Cobleskill errors to put the game in the win column.
Offensively the Fighting Tigers received multi-hit efforts from senior shortstop
Maya Davies, Binghamton, N.Y., Chenango Valley High School/Onondaga Community College, who went 2-for-3 with run and a RBI and from junior catcher
Ashley Covert, Castile, N.Y., Letchworth High School, who went 2-for-3 with a double.
