Cobleskill, N.Y.: After numerous weather-related delays the SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Delhi women's softball teams returned to action on Friday afternoon for a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader moved, due to field conditions, to Fighting Tiger Park that saw the "visiting" Fighting Tigers sweep the "host" Broncos by scores of 11-3 and 9-1. With the sweep Cobleskill is now 6-13 overall including record of a 4-1 in conference action while the Broncos fall to 6-11overall with a 3-2 record versus NAC opponents.

The Fighting Tigers dominated the action in the first game scoring in six of the seven innings pounding out 16 hits in the victory to secure the win as senior right hander Victoria Decker, Stone Ridge, N.Y., Rondout Valley High School, went the distance allowing three runs, striking out seven and walking no one to improve to 3-8 overall on the year.

At the plate the Cobleskill attack was led by senior shortstop Maya Davies, Binghamton, N.Y., Chenango Valley High School/Onondaga Community College, who went 3-for-4 with double, a run scored and four RBI and by junior catcher Ashley Covert, Castile, N.Y., Letchworth High School, who also went 3-for-4 in the game with a run scored and three RBI. The Fighting Tigers also received strong contributions from senior centerfielder Jillian Nitchman, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Ballston Spa High School, who was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and from junior third baseman Emma Duarte, Digton, Mass., Bristol County Agricultural High School, who was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.

In the nightcap the Fighting Tigers once again victimized Bronco pitching for nine runs on 12 hits as senior right fielder Alyssa Villielm, Rifton, N.Y., Kingston High School, went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI with designated player Ashley Covert going 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Senior second baseman Aubrie Marx, Rotterdam, N.Y., Mohanasen High School, was also a factor at the plate for the home team going 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBI.

Sophomore pitcher Marissa Wheeler, Kinderhook, N.Y., Ichabod Crane High School, made the most of her offensive support allowing only one run on two hits striking out five while walking only one to improve her record to 3-4 overall on the season.
